Fundamentals of Work Management

Developing capability and improving understanding in: Work Management and the Business Imperatives; Identifying Work; Maintenance Planning; Maintenance Scheduling and Dispatch; Maintenance Work Execution; Spares Management; Transitioning from Breakdown Maintenance; and Performance Assessment and Measurement. Planners’ School Level 1 is an online interactive training course with a focus on group work and development of improvement plans.

This course is designed to assist Maintenance Planners/Schedulers, Area Planners, Maintenance Coordinators, Maintenance Supervisors, Work Management Planners, Maintenance Engineers and other stakeholders to understand the management of work associated with the day-to-day care of physical assets. More than 5000 people have graduated through Planners’ School since 2004.

LEVEL 2

Reliable Assets

Identifying and Acting on Reliability Improvement Opportunities in: Work Management and Asset Management; Reliability and Continuous Improvement; Improving Equipment Reliability; Condition Monitoring; Operator Care; Handling Data; Defect Elimination; and Group Case Study Project. Planners’ School Level 2 is an online interactive training course.

This course is designed to assist Maintenance Planner/Scheduler, Area Planner, Maintenance Coordinator, Operations & Maintenance Supervisor, Work Management Planner, Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Superintendent, Team Leader Planning, Reliability Superintendent, Reliability Engineer, Senior Maintenance Planner, and other stakeholders to understand how the reports and day-to-day support of reliability engineers can best be utilised to deliver an outcome in the plant. More than 5000 people have graduated through Planners’ School since 2004.

Floris "Mossie" Mostert is a seasoned asset management practitioner, he commenced his career as a qualified electrician in the railways industry, specialising in heavy duty high voltage electrical maintenance. Thereafter he joined the municipality where during the past 30 years he has turned around the Electrical Support Services section responsible for maintenance on City of Cape Town’s entire Electrical infrastructure, which was certified against the PAS55 standard for Asset Management. More recently he is in charge of the Engineering & Asset Management branch of Water & Sanitation for the City of Cape Town. Mossie has a broad, balanced and practical view of maintenance and physical asset management, with personal experience in successfully implementing planning and scheduling programs that deliver true value.
